'Hammy Cup' and Codger Currawon Lures

So, another opportunity awaited us. This time, we were off to participate in the 'Hammy Cup' at Blowering Dam with some Codger Currawon lures supplied by Tackle World. We were VERY keen to get out on the water and give them a run.

With an early start on Saturday morning, we headed out to the dam after a stay over in Tumut. In our haste to start our fishing trip, we almost forgot to pack any of our food or drinks for the weekend. Unfortunately, this wasn't our only mistake.

Upon arriving at the dam, we registered, then started to get our boat into the water. It was then that we realised we had literally no fuel in the tank. We tied the boat up, got back in the ute, and headed back to Tumut to get the much needed fuel. Luckily for us, we weren't the only ones within our camp to start the day on a negative. Tim Pollack found himself with a flat battery before leaving home, and Joe Smart blew a tyre out on his boat trailer. We hadn't started well, but we were eager to make amends. Finding a campsite proved difficult, but after an hour and a half we managed to find a half decent spot to call home. We fuelled up the boat, rigged up our lines, and set off.

The weather turned on us within a few hours, and became very wet and miserable. We soldiered on, however, and tried our luck trolling, bobbing, and spinning, hoping to snare a massive cod or yellowbelly. Without giving too much away, we had a bit of luck, but you'll have to watch our video to see for yourself. Joe Smart and David Pollack had some luck reeling in a decent yellowbelly each, and Jake Smart scored himself an awesome camp oven at the presentation.
Overall, we had a lot of luck at Blowering Dam this weekend! Great place, great people, great fishing. Check out our video to see what we got up to!
Cheers,

J & C
