On Friday afternoon, Chris and I decided that we’d head out for
a leisurely fish, planning to head to a nice spot just outside of Gundagai. Our
target was obviously going to be trout, so we thought it would be a good idea
to stop into Tackle World on our way out of town and pick up some lures for our
trip.
We arrived at Tackle World, started picking
out some Celtas, and were then approached by Graeme who offered us a fantastic
opportunity: to test out some new gear and give our own opinions of the
product.
We still don’t fully understand how 2
completely amateur fishermen like us, whose fishing blog is all of 2 weeks old,
could land such a fantastic opportunity, but we were SUPER keen to get
involved.
Before we left the store, we were offered a
new rod to take with us and ‘review’: The Samaki Allure. We tried very hard to
control our excitement, and decided instead to be very grateful and humble.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be a
typical fishing trip for the Jigheads…no luck...except for Chris pulling in a
nice little rainbow trout off his dad’s 30 year old rod (pretty much made of
wood) using powerbait.
Although we didn’t catch anything off the
rod lent to us by Graeme, excluding some branches and rocks, we both loved the
look and the dynamics of it. We have never used quality like this before and
you can really tell the difference between a rod of this caliber and one that’s
been handed down to us.
We have added a short clip of our trip with
us testing out the rod, finishing up with our own review which is rated out of
‘5 Jigheads’.
We hope you enjoy!

The short handle looks like it’d be great for the Kayak! Do they come in shorter lengths?
ReplyDeleteYeah mate, but not in the Allure model. The next weight up is a 7ft. I now have the Allure and its a bloody ripper mate.
